We ordered samples from six mills across Portugal and Turkey. Nine fabrics. Six weeks of testing. One decision. The 400gsm French terry from Coelima in Guimarães passed every condition: weight, loop density, shrinkage after wash, hand-feel after enzyme treatment. The others didn't fail dramatically. They just weren't right. Too light at 320gsm. Too stiff at 420gsm before wash. One mill couldn't confirm GOTS certification at our MOQ. The number matters: 400gsm pre-shrunk, OEKO-TEX 100 certified, garment-dyed after sew so the color sits in the fabric, not on it. This is what IN/TL/1 is built from. Drop #1, November 2026.
